Get started with Yalango

Yalango is a free platform for learning languages. Here is the shortest path from a new account to your first study session.

1. Create a free account

Register at yalango.com/register. No credit card or payment information is needed.

After registering you'll be asked to verify your email address. Some actions stay limited until you do - see Verifying your email.

2. Walk through the onboarding

New accounts get a short setup wizard that asks for your name, the languages you're learning, and how you found Yalango. It ends by offering to introduce you on the forums.

You can skip any step. Everything it asks can be changed later in Settings.

3. Add your languages

Yalango keeps your content and progress separate per target language, so it needs to know what you're learning. Add languages under My languages, then use the language switcher in the menu to pick the one you want to work on.

4. Add something to study

Open My Library and create your first item:

• A deck for vocabulary and phrases - this is the most common starting point.
• A table for things that belong in a grid, like verb conjugations.
• A text to read with tap-to-translate support.
• A notebook to combine notes, vocabulary and video in one document.

In a hurry? The Study dashboard suggests starter decks for your language, and you can save any public deck into your own library with one click.

5. Practice

Open your deck and choose a game. Mix is the recommended default - it rotates between flashcards, quizzes and writing so a session doesn't get repetitive.
