Study multiple languages on Yalango

Yalango is designed for polyglots. There is no limit on how many languages you can study and track.

Add the languages you're learning at My languages, then switch between them from the language selector in the main menu.

Everything stays separate

Picking an active language changes what you see across the whole site. Kept separately per language:

• Your library - decks, tables, texts, notebooks and folders
• Your vocabulary list and spaced repetition queue
• Your daily goal and your streak
• Your statistics

This means practising Spanish doesn't keep your Japanese streak alive, and a goal that suits your main language won't be forced on a language you only dabble in.

Source language and target language

Each piece of content has a target language (what you're learning) and a source language (the language you understand it through). That pairing is why a Spanish deck written for English speakers is a different deck from the same words written for French speakers.

You can set your preferred source language per target language, which also decides which public decks are the most useful match for you.

A tip for juggling several languages

Set a small daily goal for secondary languages - even 5 correct items a day keeps the vocabulary from going stale, and it's a target you can actually hit on a busy day. You can configure a different goal per language and per weekday on the Goals page.
