Notification settings

Notification settings controls which notifications also arrive by email. You always get them in the app; this page is only about your inbox.

The master switch

Send notifications to my email turns all notification emails on or off. With it off, nothing below applies.

What can be emailed

NotificationEmailed by default
Replies to your commentsYes
Replies in posts you followYes
Your answer was acceptedYes
Comments on your decksYes
Comments on your tablesYes
Upvotes on your commentsNo
Upvotes on your decksNo
Upvotes on your tablesNo
Replies to your feedbackYes
Feedback status changesYes

The defaults follow a simple rule: things that need a response from you are emailed, and things that are just nice to know aren't. Upvotes fall in the second group, which is why they're off - a popular deck would otherwise fill your inbox.

Weekly forum digest

Weekly forum digest is on by default: a short Monday summary of new forum threads and questions still waiting for an answer.

It's the least intrusive way to help on the forums - one email a week showing where someone is stuck.

If you get no emails at all

Notification emails are only sent once your address is verified. If it isn't, the page warns you that no notification emails will be sent until it is. See Verifying your email.

What isn't controlled here

Account and security emails, and payment receipts from our payment provider, are sent regardless of these settings.

Yalango does not send study reminders or streak nags - your daily goal and streak live on the dashboard and won't email you about them.
