Start today's session
Start today's session on the Study dashboard is the main way to practice. It's a spaced repetition session drawn from your whole vocabulary rather than from one deck.
What's in it
Items are picked in order of urgency:
- Overdue items
- Items due today
- Items you haven't started yet
- Items due later, if the session still has room
So you never have to guess what's worth reviewing - if something is in the session, it's because it needs to be.
How long it is
The session is sized from your daily goal. If your goal is 20 correct answers and you've already done 8, it offers about 12 more, rounded to the nearest available size. Sizes run from 5 to 50 items in steps of 5.
On a rest day - a weekday with a goal of 0 - the button still works and defaults to 10 items.
Which game it uses
The session plays as Mix, which rotates between flashcards, quizzes and writing exercises so the same words get tested in different ways. You can change which games Mix includes in your language settings.
Wrong answers come back later in the same session, so a session with mistakes runs slightly longer than the number you picked.
At the end
The score screen shows your percentage, your time, and the items you got wrong. From there you can:
- Practice mistakes - go straight back into the ones you missed.
- Play again with new cards - keep going with a fresh set.
- Back - return to the dashboard.
Your progress ring and streak update as you go, not at the end, so answers count even if you leave halfway through.
If there's nothing due
You'll see You're all caught up. That's a good outcome, not a problem - the schedule is deliberately spacing things out. If you want to push on anyway, add more cards or play a deck directly to bring new words into your vocabulary.
