Study languages with YouTube and Yalango Watch

Yalango integrates with YouTube through Yalango Watch, so a video can become a study session instead of just something you watched.

How the integration works

Videos play in YouTube's own player, embedded in the page. That means:

• Captions come from YouTube. Turn on CC in the player - Yalango doesn't generate subtitles, so a video with proper subtitles is far easier to study than one relying on automatic captions.
• Any public YouTube video works. Paste a link or video ID at the top of the Watch page.
• Nothing is downloaded or re-hosted. Views count on YouTube as normal.

What Yalango adds

The panel beside the player is the part that isn't YouTube:

• Translate a word or phrase into your source language, using your monthly translation allowance.
• Queue words with timestamps, then save the whole batch to a deck when you're finished.
• Track progress, so returning to a video offers to continue where you stopped.

Finding videos

The curated library gathers videos from channels picked for language learners, filterable by language, channel and length. Videos you add yourself are private to you and appear under Saved.

What you need an account for

Browsing and watching work signed out. Translating, saving words, marking videos watched and progress tracking all require an account.
